10 preps, low-abundance protein enrichment kit for 10 mg of total protein, includes 10 spin columns, wash buffer, elution reagents, collection tubes

Use ProteoMiner Protein Enrichment Small-Capacity Kits to simultaneously concentrate low-abundance proteins and lower the concentration of high-abundance proteins in ≥10 mg of sample. The protein complexity of the sample is maintained.

The enrichment protocol uses a large, highly diverse library of combinatorial peptide ligands bound to beads. After high-abundance proteins have saturated all their high-affinity ligands, the unbound excess protein is washed away. Most medium- and low-abundance proteins will not saturate their ligands, resulting in no excess to be washed away.

Knowledge of the identity and characteristics of the proteins within a sample is not required

For fractionation of the protein sample after binding to the beads, the ProteoMiner Protein Enrichment Small-Capacity Kit can be used with the ProteoMiner Sequential Elution Reagents (1633003). The elution kit contains four different elution buffers, providing multiple options for successive elution of populations of proteins with different characteristics. The ProteoMiner Protein Enrichment Small-Capacity Kit and Sequential Elution Reagents can be purchased together in one kit, the ProteoMiner Sequential Elution Small-Capacity Kit (1633010). Sequential elution has been optimized to prepare samples for SELDI ProteinChip analysis. Elution reagents are not compatible with direct use of fractions in 2-D gel electrophoresis.
